Dear Area 1 Principals,
Thank you for attending
today's meeting in Sioux Falls. If you didn't get a chance to make it today, we
look forward to seeing you at our next meeting on October 16th. John Pederson
from SASD will be our guest speaker next month. Thank you to the ESA today for
their presentation on Blogs and Wikis.
If you want to participate in
the book talk, we are going to read the through chapter 6 for our next meeting in
"Make Today Count". We hope to do "Make Today Count" before
the Winter Break and then we will read "Ethics 101" after the break.
If you want to participate and would like us to order the books please let Kim
Aman (Bridgewater), there are two Kim Amans, know and she can order them for
you.
It was great to see so many
today! We look forward to seeing you all in October.
P.S. Remember that if you have
an aspiring principal that you would like Area 1 to sponsor this year please
let us know by sending either myself or Kim Aman an email.

Parking: There is a parking
ramp connected in the back of the building. It is .50 an hour for parking. I
hope to find a way to get it validated. (Cross your fingers) There is an
elevator, and a skywalk connected to the building from the ramp. Or you can
park in front using a meter. The meter is .60 an hour.

The dues are $75.00 and
can be paid the first meeting you attend, or you may mail it to Kim Aman at
Bridegwater/Emery. Your dues will cover the cost of the facility, meals, and
program. Please make checks payable to Southeast Area Principals.
Book Group Options: If you want
to participate in the book group and would like us to order it please let us
know by September 3. We can purchase it for you, and you can reimburse us at
the first meeting. We have decided to go with the books, Ethics 101 and Make
Today Count by John Maxwell. These are two short reads, but contain a lot of
valuable information. They are $10.00 a piece. They can also be purchased at
Barnes and Noble.

My Area 5 Message:
Greetings,
I hope the start of the 2008-09 school year brings enthusiasm from a restful
and rejuvenating summer. I am the Area 5 Elementary Principal Representative
along with Andy Wilkins of Chamberlain. We will meet four times this year for
professional development and networking opportunities within our area. The
schedule is listed below. Please plan to attend these meetings. If you are new
or not a member of the elementary association (SDAESP), you can join through
our parent group SASD. You can visit their web site at www.sasd.org
for an application form. For information about the elementary principal
association, you can find the web site at www.sdaesp.k12.sd.us/.
Starting times for our meetings will be 11:30 A.M. and will conclude around 2:00 P.M.
